MARIVEL

Your medication on time,
without the hassle.

Marivel reminds you to take your medication. If you choose to, your caregiver gets a message when a dose stays unconfirmed. Your medication data stays on your own device by default.

One day in the app. Green is confirmed, red is not confirmed, white is still to come.

Who it's for

Who is Marivel for?

  • For anyone who needs to take medication at set times.
  • For anyone who wants to stay in control themselves.
  • For anyone who optionally wants to have a caregiver notified.
  • For anyone acting as caregiver who only wants to hear about it when it matters.
How it works

Four steps.

1

Add your medication.

Name, packaging, dose and times. The database fills in most of it itself.

2

Get a notification on your phone.

At the time you set, with the dose included. Confirming, skipping or snoozing fifteen minutes can be done right from the notification.

3

Let a caregiver be notified if you forget anyway.

Optional, off by default. If a dose stays unconfirmed, your caregiver gets a message — with the time, without the medication.

4

Keep track of your stock.

Every confirmed dose brings it down by one. When stock drops below your threshold, the medication appears on your reorder list.

The database

Type the brand name, pick the packaging.

The medicines list matches the country you choose. No merged list: someone typing "Dafalgan" in Dikkelvenne has no use for thirty Dutch packagings mixed in.

That list is fixed inside the app and therefore, by definition, older than reality. New or changed products only appear after an app update. The official patient leaflet always takes precedence.

Privacy

By default, we collect nothing.

No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking. Your medication, your schedules, your history and your stock stay in the app's private storage on your own device.

What isn't there can't leak.

There is one exception, off by default: caregiver alerts. If you switch them on, only a random device number, the expected times for the coming week, and whether you confirmed them leave your device. The name of your medication, the dose, the strength and your history stay on your device. That's exactly why the message to your caregiver reads "a dose at 08:00 was not confirmed", and not which medication it concerns.

Limits

What the app doesn't do.

This deserves to be just as clear as the rest. Marivel is a memory aid, nothing more.

  • ×It is not a medical device within the meaning of European regulation 2017/745.
  • ×It makes no diagnosis and gives no treatment advice.
  • ×It calculates no doses and assesses no drug interactions.
  • ×It doesn't replace your doctor or pharmacist. Never change a dose or a schedule based on what the app shows.
  • ×Reminders may fail to appear: a switched-off device, an empty battery, or a withdrawn permission. On Android, manufacturer power saving can block them; on iOS, there's a limit on the number of scheduled notifications. For critical medication, do not rely on this app alone.
Manual

A manual you can print.

Every step gets its own page, with the image of that screen right next to it. Where Android and iOS differ — the permission flow, battery management — that's marked separately, so no one looks at the wrong screen.

About the maker

Why I built this app.

I'm a general practitioner. In practice I see how often medication goes wrong; different boxes, each with its own schedule, are simply hard to keep track of.

This app is my answer to that: a memory aid, not a medical device. It gives no advice and decides nothing for you. What it does do is let you know in time, and if you want it one person keeping an eye out from a distance.
